Marineland’s “Bear Country” exhibit houses a number of American Black Bears. In the wild, these bears are solitary animals that do not regularly interact with others of their kind besides their cubs. The bears at Marineland all share a small enclosure with little room for retreat from one another, and visitors have reported seeing bears with scars or injuries most likely from fighting. Visitors are able to feed the bears treats that are provided by Marineland (marshmallows and what appear to be corn-pops) and the park also does not stop visitors from feeding them personally provided treats, which could have adverse effects on their health.
